It is located as a separate building recently constructed and funded under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2016. The library is equipped with fire alarm and CCTV surveillance.

As time passed by Library collection is now having well-stocked collections of both print and electronic format. Its collections include a wide range of subject fields of knowledge namely science, arts and commerce. The collection of printed books and electronic resources satisfies the information needs for all academic and related activities of the students and staff. It has taken subscription membership from INFLIBNET N-LIST that provides online access to 6000+ e-journals and 1,99,500 e-books and DELNET that provides 3,50,000+ e-books, 1,00,000+ e-journals and 1,00,000+ Thesis/Dissertations. The library is automated with KOHA integrated library management software. It is an open source integrated library management system with freedom to modify the software. It is maintained by a dedicated team of software providers, volunteers and library technology staff from around the globe. Major advantage in using this software is basically it is easy to use by the staff as well as patrons with basic computer skills. It is developed with all basic and important library modules to cater to the automation needs of our Library. Circulation Module is carried out using Barcode Reader.

Koha is a fully web based software with all necessary modules to perform traditional library operation in modern/technical environment. It is distributed under the General Public License. Koha has no vendor lock-in, no set term contracts, and no restrictions on changing support or exporting your data at any given time. We have the freedom to tailor software specifically to our requirements, our collection, our budget and our patrons.

Koha’s main strength is its web accessibility and ease of use. It supports all library housekeeping activities such as acquisition, cataloguing, circulation of books using barcode reader, patron management and online public access catalogue. It supports web 2.0 tools.

The most important module Patrons Module helps to register students and staff as members of the Library. Bar Coded library membership identity cards are generated for all students and staff.

The Circulation Module enables to check in and check out books. It is performed using barcode reader. It also displays the circulation history of books issued, returned and renewed. There is a facility to sends SMS alerts for overdue, warning if there is a fine it calculates the fine. It also has added feature like item reservation.

Further the Cataloguing Module has fast-add framework tab that allows entering the bibliographic details of the book. In Tools module the list of patrons registered called bulk patrons report can be listed, can delete bulk patron, bulk photo upload, barcode labels for books and bar coded library identity cards for students and staff can be generated.

The Acquisition Module has important features like budget, fund management, ordering process to vendor, invoicing process, accessioning and shelf location. Serials Management helps in serial planning for journals, fund, budget management, late issue remainder, new issue arrival notification and receiving of supplement issue.

Reports Module lists out items like patrons checking out the most, frequently circulated books, books lost, patrons who haven’t checked out, books with no checkouts, circulation reports and acquisition statistics. Administration Module enables to create different branches, define circulation rules, module wise preferences and OPAC control. Using these modules in KOHA has empowered Library to manage it activities effectively.
